SASC Recreational Soccer Player Registration

This information is for Recreational Soccer Player registration only.

Please note:

tulip  leaf   Our Spring & Fall Recreational Leagues are comprised of parent-coached teams, with mid-week practices and a season of scheduled games on Saturdays.

Sunnyvale Soccer are classes taught by SASC professional coaches for 4-5 year old beginner players, held on Wednesday afternoons.

Registration for the Spring 2025 season is now open.

Dates

  • Early-Bird discount is only available until Jan 8, 2025
  • Registration closes on Feb 12th, 2025
    (Financial Aid applications close Feb 7th, 2025)

  • First game: March 15, 2025
  • Last game: May 17, 2025
  • 8-10 games depending on age group, plus an optional post-season tournament for the older age groups
  • U10 and younger: No games April 19 (spring break). We will be holding a Jamboree for U10 and younger that day. Further details to follow
  • There will be no make-ups scheduled for canceled games
  • Games will be played on City of Sunnyvale fields. Older age groups (U12+) may play against other clubs in the South Bay which will require travel to away games

Age Groups / Team Formation

  • Players must be born in 2020 or earlier to be able to register
  • Teams are formed based on friend requests, coach requests and neighborhoods. We make every effort to accommodate all requests
  • Players from adjacent birth years will be combined to form age groups based on registration numbers

U6-U8 programs

  • SASC will run a special club practice program to support our volunteer coaches in the U6, U7 and U8 age groups
  • Each participating team will be assigned a timeslot on either Wednesday or Friday afternoons
    • Note - each team's volunteer coach can choose to opt-out of these sessions and run their own practice at a time/day/location of their preference
  • Our Director of Coaching (Andrew Ransome) will provide practice plans and live instruction for each practice session
  • On Saturday, teams will play games against each other, led by their coaches

Practices

  • Each team will practice at least once a week (U12 and older age groups are typically twice per week)
  • The time/day and location of each practice is completely up to the team's volunteer coach

Coaches needed

  • Our program relies on parent/volunteer coaches, please consider volunteering to coach your child's team
  • Coaches receive in-person training before the season as well as ongoing support throughout the season
  • All required equipment is provided (plus a SASC hat & shirt to keep)
  • Head coaches receive a 50% discount on a recreational player registration fee!
    • Issued after season starts and successful completion of all mandated registration events
  • Please let us know of your desire to coach by checking the box in your child's registration, or by contacting the SASC Recreational Director

Registration Fees

    Early-Bird (on or before Jan 8, 2025)
    • U6:   $160
    • U7+: $180
    Regular Fee (from Jan 9, 2025)
    • U6:   $185
    • U7+: $205
    A late fee of $20 is added for registrations after the deadline (Feb 12, 2025)

  • Registration fee includes a complete uniform
  • Financial Aid is available. Please review eligibility and submit a request on the SASC Financial Aid page before registering.
    • IMPORTANT - Financial Aid applications take some time to process, so please submit your application by Feb 7th, 2025 to ensure your place on a team.

Required paperwork

  • Proof of age documentation may be required for players. You will receive a separate emailed request to upload it if required.
    • A copy of the child's birth certificate or a copy of the photo page of their passport must be uploaded. No hospital certificates or foreign language birth documents are accepted. Please contact recregistration@sunnyvalesoccer.org if your birth document is only available in a foreign language.

Payment and Refund Policy - Spring 2025 Recreational Season

  • Refunds requested on or before Feb 24, 2025 are eligible for a partial refund of $100
  • Refunds will not be issued after Feb 24, 2025 except in case of injury and/or at the discretion of the Recreational Director
  • Refunds due to injury will require a doctor's note and will be prorated based on date of injury
  • Players who register for the SASC Recreational program and move to the SASC Competitive program must submit a refund request
All refund requests must be made in writing at: www.sunnyvalesoccer.org/refunds and can take up to 4 weeks to process.

Important: Online player registration must be completed by the child's parent/legal guardian - no one else can complete a player's registration on their behalf.


Please note - a player may not register for the SASC Recreational Soccer Program if they are also registered for any competitive soccer team (regardless of what club it is, SASC or otherwise)
